The annual school walkathon has proved once again to be another big hit with students and families of Alawa and Nemarluk schools. It was a fantastic morning with all students, families and friends joining in to raise money to build a new concrete, wheelchair accessible path at the Alawa Farm. Students from both schools joined together walking, running, skipping, wheeling and jogging up to 10 laps in just one hour. Congratulations to Joshua Edwards for completing the most laps for Alawa winning him self a super prize back pack.
Alawa school has alone so far raised just over $3000 which is an amazing effort put in by all and once joined with Nemarluks monies raised and money still to come in we will be well on our way to installing our new pathway.
As always days like this could not be as successful as they are without the hard work put in by the dedicated Alawa staff, our schools families and friends, our amazing students and our fantastic sponsors: Darwin Ice Skating, Event Cinemas, King Pin Darwin, Flipout and KJ's Malak - a big thanks to you all.
