Skills 2021 (3)

On Tuesday 8th August a group of students had the opportunity to attend the ‘Skills 2021’ technology expo at Parliament House. The expo was about us getting exposure to the different types of technology we can use at school.

  • Isaac ‘I liked when we went up to the 4th floor and got to wear the virtual reality head set. We had to aim for barrels using a virtual sling shot.’
  • Bardi ‘I enjoyed getting to see and play with new technology, I am excited to now start our Lego First Challenge.’
  • Nathan ‘I loved the wiring in the library to make sounds on an online program’
  • Amelie J ‘We got to play with 2 types of fruit. They acted as a conductor of energy to move a character on a computer screen.’
  • Ryan ‘The best part of the day was to play with the new Minecraft update. It had new blocks and 2 new items you could have.’
  • Jordyn ‘My favourite part of the day was seeing the Bee Bot robots again. We had to program them to move across a mat square by square.’
  • Toby C ‘I admired playing with the spheros, we tried knocking stuff over’
  • Amelie G ‘I had a great time at Parliament House with the drones, if you double tapped the ipad, the drone would flip.’

Huge thanks to Sap Daroch and the team from IT Services in the Nt Department of Education for hosting this event!
