The Alawa Difference

At Alawa Primary School, we are proud to offer learning experiences that go beyond the classroom. Our programs and approaches are designed to nurture the whole child — academically, socially and emotionally — while connecting students with real-world skills and opportunities that prepare them for the future.

21st Century Learning

Equiping students with the tools, mindset and skills they need to thrive in a changing world.

Kitchen and Farm

Hands-on experiences growing, harvesting and cooking fresh produce, while caring for animals and learning sustainability.

Connected Literacy

Ensuring oral language, reading and writing are all connected through a balanced approach.

Meaningful Maths

Making mathmatics engaging, practical and connected to everyday life.

Wrap Around Individualised Learning and Specialist Support

Ensuring every child is seen, supported and extended through tailored programs and specialist expertise included allied health programs.

At Alawa, children are empowered to grow as learners and leaders.

Growing skills through our farm and kitchen program

The Alawa farm is at the heart of school life. Students build responsibility, teamwork and sustainability skills through caring for animals and gardens, while connecting with nature and growing their confidence.

The 21st Century Learner

At Alawa Primary School, our mascot ALLE the Frilled-Neck Lizard represents what it means to be a 21st Century Learner. The frilled-neck lizard is unique to the Northern Territory and is known for its ability to adapt, respond and thrive in changing environments — qualities we want to nurture in our students.

Through ALLE, we teach children about the five key learning tools that help them succeed both at school and in life:
